D.O.A. is Canada’s most renowned band. Formed in Vancouver in 1978, the release of the band’s legendary album Hardcore 81 in 1981 pushed the term hardcore into popular culture. Due to their popularization of hardcore punk rock, D.O.A. has been cited a major influence for a number of bands including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Rancid. New wax reporter Christian Deo recently spokes with D.O.A.’s frontman Joey Keithly about his long running band and his political aspirations.
